حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْوَرْدِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَ ذُكِرَ لَهَا أَنَّ الْمَيِّتَ يُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ الْحَيِّ فَقَالَتْ إِنَّمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي رَجُلٍ كَافِرٍ إِنَّهُ لَيُعَذَّبُ وَأَهْلُهُ يَبْكُونَ عَلَيْهِ.
English Translation
Waki' narrated to us: Abd al-Jabbar ibn al-Ward narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Mulaykah, from A'ishah - it was mentioned to her that the deceased is punished due to the weeping of the living, so she said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, only said that concerning a disbelieving man: he is being punished while his family weeps over him."
