حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّادٍ عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ أَمَرَتْ بِجِنَازَةِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ أَنْ تَمُرَّ عَلَيْهَا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَبَلَغَهَا أَنْ قِيلَ فِي ذَلِكَ فَقَالَتْ مَا أَسْرَعَ النَّاسَ إِلَى الْقَوْلِ وَاللَّهِ مَا صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى سُهَيْلِ ابْنِ بَيْضَاءَ إِلَّا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ.
English Translation
Sa'id ibn Mansur narrated to us: Fulayh ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from Salih ibn Ajlan and Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Abbad, from Abbad ibn Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr, that A'ishah ordered that the bier of Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas be carried through the mosque. When word reached her that this had been criticized, she said: "How quick people are to speak! By Allah, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed over Suhayl ibn Bayda' only in the mosque."
