Affan told us: Abu Awana told us: Mansur ibn al-Mu'tamir told us, from Ibrahim, from al-Aswad, from Aisha, who said: We went out with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, thinking of nothing but the Hajj. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, arrived at Mecca and performed the tawaf but did not exit ihram, for he had the sacrificial animal with him. Those with him among his wives and companions performed the tawaf, and those among them who did not have a sacrificial animal exited ihram, while I menstruated. So we completed the rites of our Hajj. Then, on the night of al-Hasba, the night of departure, I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, will your companions return with both Hajj and Umra while I return with only Hajj?' He said: 'Did you not perform tawaf on the nights we arrived?' I said: 'No.' He said: 'Go with your brother to al-Tan'im and enter ihram for Umra, then your appointed meeting place will be such-and-such.' She said: And Safiyya menstruated, so he said: 'May you be afflicted, you are indeed detaining us! Did you not perform tawaf around the House on the Day of Sacrifice?' She said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Then there is no harm, so depart.' She said: Then I met the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, at night as he was going up toward the people of Mecca while I was going down toward them, or he was going down toward them while I was going up.
