حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ عَائِشَةَ فَقُلْتُ يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَتَبَتَّلَ فَقَالَتْ لَا تَفْعَلْ أَلَمْ تَقْرَأْ { لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ } قَدْ تَزَوَّجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَوُلِدَ لَهُ.
English Translation
Husayn ibn Muhammad told us: al-Mubarak told us, from al-Hasan, from Sa'd ibn Hisham, who said: I came to A'ishah and said, "O Mother of the Believers, I intend to remain celibate." She said, "Do not do that. Have you not recited: 'Indeed in the Messenger of Allah you have a good example'? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married and had children."
