حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصُومُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لَا يُفْطِرُ وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لَا يَصُومُ وَمَا اسْتَكْمَلَ صِيَامَ شَهْرٍ قَطُّ إِلَّا رَمَضَانَ وَمَا رَأَيْتُهُ فِي شَهْرٍ قَطُّ أَكْثَرَ صِيَامًا مِنْهُ فِي شَعْبَانَ.
English Translation
Ishaq ibn Isa told us: Malik told us, from Abu al-Nadr, from Abu Salamah ibn Abd al-Rahman, from A'ishah, who said: the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to fast such that we would say he would never break his fast, and he would break his fast such that we would say he would never fast; and he never completed a full month's fasting except Ramadan, and I never saw him fast more in any month than he did in Sha'ban.
