English Translation
Qutaybah bin Sa'id told us, saying Ibn Lahi'ah told us, from al-Harith bin Yazid, from Ziyad bin Nu'aym, from Muslim bin Mikhraq, from Aisha -- it was mentioned to her that some people recite the Qur'an in a single night once or twice, so she said: Those have recited yet not truly recited. I used to stand in prayer with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, on the night of the full moon, and he would recite Surat al-Baqarah, Al Imran, and al-Nisa'; he would not pass by a verse containing a warning without supplicating to Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and seeking refuge, nor pass by a verse containing glad tidings without supplicating to Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and yearning towards Him.
