حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى عَنْ عَمْرَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ لَوْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى مِنْ النِّسَاءِ مَا رَأَيْنَا لَمَنَعَهُنَّ مِنْ الْمَسَاجِدِ كَمَا مَنَعَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ نِسَاءَهَا قُلْتْ لِعَمْرَةَ وَمَنَعَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ نِسَاءَهَا قَالَتْ نَعَمْ.
English Translation
Yunus told us, saying Hammad -- that is, Ibn Zayd -- told us, from Yahya, from Amrah, from Aisha, who said: If the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had seen what we have seen of women, he would have prevented them from the mosques, just as the Children of Israel prevented their women. I said to Amrah: Did the Children of Israel prevent their women? She said: Yes.
