حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ وَقُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ جَاءَ بِلَالٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَاتَتْ فُلَانَةُ وَاسْتَرَاحَتْ فَغَضِبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ إِنَّمَا يَسْتَرِيحُ مَنْ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ قَالَ قُتَيْبَةُ مَنْ غُفِرَ لَهُ.
English Translation
Yahya narrated to us, he said: Ibn Lahi'ah informed us; and Qutaybah ibn Sa'id said: Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, from Abu al-Aswad, from Urwah, from Aishah, who said: Bilal came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said, "O Messenger of Allah, so-and-so has died and found rest." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, became angry and said, "It is only one who has entered Paradise who finds rest." Qutaybah said: "one who has been forgiven."
