حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ لَمِيسَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ كَانَ يَخْلِطُ فِي الْعِشْرِينَ الْأُولَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ نَوْمٍ وَصَلَاةٍ فَإِذَا دَخَلَتْ الْعَشْرُ جَدَّ وَشَدَّ الْمِئْزَرَ.
English Translation
Aswad narrated to us: Sharik narrated to us, from Jabir, from Yazid ibn Murrah, from Lamis, from Aishah, who said: During the first twenty nights (of Ramadan), the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would mix sleep and prayer; but when the last ten nights came, he would exert himself and tighten his waist-wrapper.
