English Translation
Aisha said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) died in my house, on my day, and between my chest and my throat. Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr entered with a fresh twig of siwak. He looked at it, and I thought he wanted it. I took it, chewed it, softened it, and handed it to him. He brushed his teeth as well as I ever saw him do. Then he tried to raise it back to me, but it fell from his hand. I began supplicating to Allah with a supplication that Jibril (peace be upon him) used to make for him, and he himself used to make it when ill, but he did not make it in that illness of his. He raised his eyes to heaven and said: 'The Highest Companion! The Highest Companion!' and his soul departed. Praise be to Allah who joined my saliva with his on the last day of this worldly life."
