حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا بَدَّنَ وَثَقُلَ يَقْرَأُ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ فَإِذَا غَبَرَ مِنْ السُّورَةِ ثَلَاثُونَ أَوْ أَرْبَعُونَ آيَةً قَامَ فَقَرَأَهَا ثُمَّ سَجَدَ.
English Translation
Aisha said: "When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) grew old and heavy, he would recite what Allah willed while sitting. When about thirty or forty verses remained of the surah, he would stand, recite them, and then prostrate."
