حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ رَخَّصَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي أَمْرٍ فَتَنَزَّهَ عَنْهُ نَاسٌ مِنْ النَّاسِ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَغَضِبَ حَتَّى بَانَ الْغَضَبُ فِي وَجْهِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَا بَالُ قَوْمٍ يَرْغَبُونَ عَمَّا رُخِّصَ لِي فِيهِ فَوَاللَّهِ لَأَنَا أَعْلَمُهُمْ بِاللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَأَشَدُّهُمْ لَهُ خَشْيَةً.
English Translation
Aisha said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) granted a concession in a matter, but some people refrained from it. When that reached the Prophet (peace be upon him), he became angry until the anger was visible in his face. Then he said: 'What is wrong with people who refrain from what has been made permissible for me? By Allah, I am the most knowledgeable among them about Allah, the Mighty and Glorious, and the most fearful of Him.'"
