English Translation
Abu Abdur-Rahman narrated to us: Haywah narrated to us, who said: Abu Hani' informed me, that Abu Ali Amr bin Malik al-Janbi narrated to him — Fadalah bin Ubayd narrated to him from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: There are three about whom you should not ask: a man who separated from the community and disobeyed his leader and died in disobedience; a female or male slave who ran away and died as a fugitive; and a woman whose husband was absent, having spared her all worldly needs, and who then displayed her adornments after he left — do not ask about them. And three others about whom you should not ask: a man who disputed with Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, over His mantle — for His mantle is Greatness and His garment is Might; a man who doubted the matter of Allah; and despair of the mercy of Allah.
