English Translation
Abd al-Samad told us: Dawud -- that is, Ibn Abi al-Furat -- told us: Muhammad ibn Zayd told us, from Abu Shurayh, from Abu Muslim, freedman of Zayd ibn Suhan al-Abdi, who said: I was with Salman al-Farisi, and he saw a man who had broken his ablution and wanted to remove his leather socks. Salman ordered him to wipe over his leather socks and over his turban, and to wipe his forelock, and Salman said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) wipe over his leather socks and over his head-covering."
