حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ سَلْمَانَ قَالَ قَالَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ إِنَّ هَذَا لَيُعَلِّمُكُمْ حَتَّى إِنَّهُ لَيُعَلِّمُكُمْ الْخِرَاءَةَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَئِنْ قُلْتُمْ ذَاكَ لَقَدْ نَهَانَا أَنْ نَسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةَ أَوْ نَسْتَدْبِرَهَا أَوْ نَسْتَنْجِيَ بِأَيْمَانِنَا أَوْ يَكْتَفِيَ أَحَدُنَا بِدُونِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَحْجَارٍ أَوْ يَسْتَنْجِيَ أَحَدُنَا بِرَجِيعٍ أَوْ عَظْمٍ.
English Translation
Ibn Fudayl told us: al-A'mash told us, from Ibrahim, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid, from Salman, who said: The polytheists said: "This one teaches you, even teaching you how to relieve yourselves." He said: I said: "If you say that, then indeed he has forbidden us from facing the qiblah or turning our backs to it, or cleansing ourselves with our right hands, or any of us contenting himself with fewer than three stones, or cleansing himself with dung or bone."
