English Translation
Abd al-Razzaq told us: Ma'mar told us, from al-Zuhri, from Ibn Abi Su'ayr, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: When the day of Uhud came, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked out over the martyrs who had been killed that day and said: "Wrap them in their blood, for I have borne witness concerning them." So two or three men would be buried in a single grave, and it would be asked which of them knew the Qur'an best, and he would be put forward. Jabir said: My father and my uncle were buried that day in a single grave.
