حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِي حُمَيْدٍ أَوْ حُمَيْدَةَ الشَّكُّ مِنْ زُهَيْرٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا خَطَبَ أَحَدُكُمْ امْرَأَةً فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِ أَنْ يَنْظُرَ إِلَيْهَا إِذَا كَانَ إِنَّمَا يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهَا لِخِطْبَتِهِ وَإِنْ كَانَتْ لَا تَعْلَمُ.
English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Humayd (or Humaydah, the doubt being from Zuhayr): The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "When one of you proposes marriage to a woman, there is no blame upon him in looking at her, if he looks at her only for the sake of the proposal, even if she is unaware of it."
