English Translation
It was narrated to us by Abdur-Razzaq, who said: It was narrated to us by Ma'mar, from Abu Ishaq, who said: It was narrated to me by one who was with Sa'id ibn al-'As on a campaign called the campaign of al-Khashab, and Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman was with him. Sa'id said: 'Which of you witnessed the prayer of fear with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him?' Hudhayfah said: 'I did.' So Hudhayfah commanded them, and they put on their weapons. Then he said: 'If any commotion stirs you, then fighting has become permissible for you.' He said: So he led one of the two groups in one rak'ah of prayer, while the other group faced the enemy. Then those withdrew and took the position of the others, and the others came, and he led them in another rak'ah, then he gave them the greeting of peace.
