English Translation
Ibn Numayr narrated to us: al-A'mash narrated to us, from Sa'd ibn Ubaydah, from al-Mustawrid ibn al-Ahnaf, from Silah ibn Zufar, from Hudhayfah, who said: I prayed with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, one night, and he opened with Surat al-Baqarah. I said, "He will bow at the hundredth verse." He said: Then he continued, so I said, "He will pray it all in one rak'ah." Then he continued, so I said, "He will bow with it." Then he opened with Surat al-Nisa and recited it, then he opened with Surat Al Imran and recited it, reciting steadily; whenever he passed by a verse containing glorification, he glorified; whenever he passed by a supplication, he supplicated; and whenever he passed by a verse seeking refuge, he sought refuge. Then he bowed, and he began saying, "Glory be to my Lord the Magnificent," and his bowing was nearly as long as his standing. Then he said, "Allah hears whoever praises Him," then he stood for a long time, nearly as long as his bowing had been. Then he prostrated and said, "Glory be to my Lord the Most High," and his prostration was nearly as long as his standing.
