English Translation

Affan narrated to us: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us: Asim ibn Bahdalah informed us, from Zirr ibn Hubaysh, who said: I ate the pre-dawn meal, then I set off toward the mosque, and I passed by the house of Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman, so I entered upon him. He ordered a milch-camel to be milked and a pot to be heated, then he said, "Come near and eat." I said, "I intend to fast." He said, "I too intend to fast." So we ate and drank, then we came to the mosque, and the prayer was called. Then Hudhayfah said, "This is what the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, did with me." I said, "After dawn?" He said, "Yes, it is dawn, except that the sun has not yet risen." He said: And between the house of Hudhayfah and the mosque was like the distance between the mosque of Thabit and the orchard of Hawt. Hammad also said: and Hudhayfah said, "This is what I did with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and what the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did with me."
