حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ الْبَتِّيِّ عَنْ نُعَيْمٍ قَالَ عَفَّانُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ ابْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ أَسْنَدْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى صَدْرِي فَقَالَ مَنْ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ قَالَ حَسَنٌ ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ اللَّهِ خُتِمَ لَهُ بِهَا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ وَمَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ اللَّهِ خُتِمَ لَهُ بِهَا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ وَمَنْ تَصَدَّقَ بِصَدَقَةٍ ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ اللَّهِ خُتِمَ لَهُ بِهَا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ.
English Translation
Hasan and 'Affan told us, they said: Hammad b. Salamah told us, from 'Uthman al-Batti, from Nu'aym - 'Affan said in his hadith: Ibn Abi Hind - from Hudhayfah, he said: "I had propped the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) against my chest, and he said: 'Whoever says: There is no god but God' - Hasan said: 'seeking the face of God' - 'and it is sealed for him with that, he will enter Paradise; and whoever fasts a day seeking the face of God, and it is sealed for him with that, he will enter Paradise; and whoever gives a charity seeking the face of God, and it is sealed for him with that, he will enter Paradise.'"
