حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ صَالِحٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ كَيْسَانَ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو إِدْرِيسَ عَائِذُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْخَوْلَانِيُّ سَمِعْتُ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنَ الْيَمَانِ يَقُولُ وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ النَّاسِ بِكُلِّ فِتْنَةٍ هِيَ كَائِنَةٌ فِيمَا بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ السَّاعَةِ وَمَا ذَلِكَ أَنْ يَكُونَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدَّثَنِي مِنْ ذَلِكَ شَيْئًا أَسَرَّهُ إِلَيَّ لَمْ يَكُنْ حَدَّثَ بِهِ غَيْرِي وَلَكِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ وَهُوَ يُحَدِّثُ مَجْلِسًا أَنَا فِيهِ سُئِلَ عَنْ الْفِتَنِ وَهُوَ يَعُدُّ الْفِتَنَ فِيهِنَّ ثَلَاثٌ لَا يَذَرْنَ شَيْئًا مِنْهُنَّ كَرِيَاحِ الصَّيْفِ مِنْهَا صِغَارٌ وَمِنْهَا كِبَارٌ قَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ فَذَهَبَ أُولَئِكَ الرَّهْطُ كُلُّهُمْ غَيْرِي حَدَّثَنَا فَزَارَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا صَالِحُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ.
English Translation
Ya'qub told us, my father told us, from Salih - meaning Ibn Kaysan - from Ibn Shihab, he said: Abu Idris 'A'idhullah b. 'Abdullah al-Khawlani said: I heard Hudhayfah b. al-Yaman say: "By God, I am the most knowledgeable of people about every tribulation that will occur between now and the Hour, and that is not because the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) told me anything of that in secret which he did not tell anyone else, but because the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) said, while speaking in a gathering I was present in, when he was asked about the tribulations - and he was enumerating the tribulations among them - 'Three of them will leave nothing untouched, like the winds of summer, some small and some great.'" Hudhayfah said: "So all that group died except me." Fazarah b. 'Amr told us, Ibrahim b. Sa'd told us, Salih b. Kaysan told us, and he mentioned the like of it.
