حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنِ ابْنَةِ كُرْدُمَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهَا أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ أَنْ أَنْحَرَ ثَلَاثَةً مِنْ إِبِلِي قَالَ إِنْ كَانَ عَلَى جَمْعٍ مِنْ جَمْعِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ أَوْ عَلَى عِيدٍ مِنْ عِيدِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ أَوْ عَلَى وَثَنٍ فَلَا وَإِنْ كَانَ عَلَى غَيْرِ ذَلِكَ فَاقْضِ نَذْرَكَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ عَلَى أُمِّ هَذِهِ الْجَارِيَةِ مَشْيًا أَفَتَمْشِي عَنْهَا قَالَ نَعَمْ.
English Translation
Abu Bakr al-Hanafi told us, Abd al-Hamid ibn Ja'far informed us, from Amr ibn Shu'ayb, from the daughter of Kurdamah, from her father, that he asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: he said, "I have vowed to slaughter three of my camels." He said, "If it was for a gathering of the gatherings of the pre-Islamic era, or for a festival of the festivals of the pre-Islamic era, or for an idol, then no; but if it was for other than that, then fulfill your vow." He said, "O Messenger of Allah, this girl's mother has vowed to walk - shall I walk on her behalf?" He said, "Yes."
