حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ مُنِيبٍ عَنْ عَمِّهِ قَالَ بَلَغَ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ سَتَرَ أَخَاهُ الْمُسْلِمَ فِي الدُّنْيَا سَتَرَهُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَرَحَلَ إِلَيْهِ وَهُوَ بِمِصْرَ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ الْحَدِيثِ قَالَ نَعَمْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ سَتَرَ أَخَاهُ الْمُسْلِمَ فِي الدُّنْيَا سَتَرَهُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ قَالَ فَقَالَ وَأَنَا قَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
English Translation
Mu'ammal ibn Isma'il Abu Abd al-Rahman told us, Hammad told us, Abd al-Malik ibn Umayr told us, from Munib, from his uncle, who said: it reached a man among the Companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, concerning a man among the Companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he was narrating from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said, "Whoever conceals his Muslim brother's fault in this world, Allah will conceal him on the Day of Resurrection." So he traveled to him - he being in Egypt - and asked him about the hadith. He said, "Yes, I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say, 'Whoever conceals his Muslim brother's fault in this world, Allah will conceal him on the Day of Resurrection.'" He said: then he said, "And I too heard it from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him."
