English Translation
Abu al-Nadr told us, Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak told us, from Abd al-Hamid ibn Sayfi, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: Suhayb came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, while there were dates and bread in front of him. He said, "Come close and eat." So he began eating from the dates. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him, "You have an inflammation in your eye." He said, "O Messenger of Allah, I am only eating from the other side." He said: so the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, smiled.
