حَدَّثَنَا مَكِّيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا الْجُعَيْدُ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْخَطْمِيِّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ كَعْبٍ وَهُوَ يَسْأَلُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ يَقُولُ أَخْبِرْنِي مَا سَمِعْتَ أَبَاكَ يَقُولُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَثَلُ الَّذِي يَلْعَبُ بِالنَّرْدِ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَيُصَلِّي مَثَلُ الَّذِي يَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْقَيْحِ وَدَمِ الْخِنْزِيرِ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَيُصَلِّي.
English Translation
Makki ibn Ibrahim told us: al-Ju'ayd told us, from Musa ibn Abd ar-Rahman al-Khatmi, that he heard Muhammad ibn Ka'b asking Abd ar-Rahman, saying: Tell me what you heard your father say about the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. Abd ar-Rahman said: I heard my father say: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: The likeness of the one who plays backgammon (nard) and then gets up and prays is like the likeness of one who performs ablution with pus and the blood of a pig and then gets up and prays.
