حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ حَجَّاجَ بْنَ حَجَّاجٍ الْأَسْلَمِيَّ وَكَانَ إِمَامَهُمْ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَكَانَ يَحُجُّ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ أُرَاهُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ شِدَّةَ الْحَرِّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ فَإِذَا اشْتَدَّ الْحَرُّ فَأَبْرِدُوا عَنْ الصَّلَاةِ.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us: Shu'ba told us: I heard Hajjaj ibn Hajjaj al-Aslami, who was their prayer leader, narrating from his father, who used to perform Hajj with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, from a man among the Companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him - Hajjaj said, I think it was Abdullah - from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: The intensity of heat is from the exhalation of Hell, so when the heat is intense, delay the prayer until it cools.
