حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا بَشِيرُ بْنُ الْمُهَاجِرِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَجِيءُ الْقُرْآنُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ كَالرَّجُلِ الشَّاحِبِ فَيَقُولُ لِصَاحِبِهِ أَنَا الَّذِي أَسْهَرْتُ لَيْلَكَ وَأَظْمَأْتُ هَوَاجِرَكَ.
English Translation
Waki' told us: Bashir ibn al-Muhajir told us, from Abdullah ibn Buraydah, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The Qur'an will come on the Day of Resurrection like a pale, haggard man, and it will say to its companion: I am the one who kept your nights sleepless and made you thirsty through the heat of the day.
