English Translation
'Abd al-Samad narrated to us: Hisham narrated to us from Qatadah from 'Abdullah ibn Buraydah from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, did not take evil omens from anything, but when he wanted to go to (marry) a woman, he would ask about her name; if it was good, cheerfulness would be seen on his face, and if it was bad, that would be seen on his face. And when he sent a man on a mission, he would ask about his name; if the name was good, cheerfulness would be seen on his face, and if it was bad, that would be seen on his face.
