حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ وَأَبُو النَّضْرِ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا الْعَطَّافُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَبُو النَّضْرِ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَدْوَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا وَرَوْحَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا وَمَوْضِعُ سَوْطٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ قَالَ أَبُو النَّضْرِ مِنْ الْجَنَّةِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا.
English Translation
'Isam ibn Khalid and Abu al-Nadr narrated to us, they said: Al-'Attaf ibn Khalid narrated to us, from Abu Hazim, from Sahl ibn Sa'd, who said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him" -- Abu al-Nadr said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said" -- "A morning excursion in the path of Allah is better than the world and everything in it, and an evening excursion in the path of Allah is better than the world and everything in it, and the space of a whip in Paradise" -- Abu al-Nadr said: "from Paradise -- is better than the world and everything in it."
