حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُوسَى عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَّامٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ قَالَ أَخَذَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَبَرَةً مِنْ جَنْبِ بَعِيرٍ فَقَالَ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّهُ لَا يَحِلُّ لِي مِمَّا أَفَاءَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ قَدْرَ هَذِهِ إِلَّا الْخُمُسُ وَالْخُمُسُ مَرْدُودٌ عَلَيْكُمْ.
English Translation
Mu'awiyah ibn Amr told us, Abu Ishaq told us, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Ayyash, from Sulayman ibn Musa, from Makhul, from Abu Sallam, from Abu Umamah, from Ubadah ibn al-Samit, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, took a piece of fur from the side of a camel and said: "O people, it is not lawful for me from what Allah has given you as spoils even so much as this, except the fifth — and the fifth is returned to you."
