حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي شُمَيْلَةَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ رَدَّهُ إِلَى سَعِيدٍ الصَّرَّافِ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ هَذَا الْحَيَّ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ مِحْنَةٌ حُبُّهُمْ إِيمَانٌ وَبُغْضُهُمْ نِفَاقٌ.
English Translation
Yunus narrated to us, Hammad - meaning Ibn Zayd - narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Shumaylah narrated to us, from a man whom he traced back to Sa'id al-Sarraf, from Ishaq ibn Sa'd ibn 'Ubadah, from his father Sa'd ibn 'Ubadah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "This clan of the Ansar is a test: love for them is faith, and hatred for them is hypocrisy."
