حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ قَالَ قِيلَ لِثَوْبَانَ حَدِّثْنَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ لَتَكْذِبُونَ عَلَيَّ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ يَسْجُدُ لِلَّهِ سَجْدَةً إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ اللَّهُ بِهَا دَرَجَةً وَحَطَّ عَنْهُ بِهَا خَطِيئَةً.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn Murrah, from Salim ibn Abi al-Ja'd, who said: It was said to Thawban: 'Narrate to us from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).' He said: 'You will attribute lies to me.' I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: "No Muslim prostrates to Allah a single prostration except that Allah raises him one degree thereby and removes one sin from him thereby."
