English Translation
Ali ibn Asim narrated to us: Husayn narrated to us, from Salim ibn Abi al-Ja'd, from a man of his people, who said: I came in to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wearing a gold ring. He took a palm-branch and struck my hand with it, and said, "Throw it away." He said: So I went out and threw it away, then returned to him. He said, "What became of the ring?" I said, "I threw it away." He said, "I only ordered you to make use of it, not to throw it away."
