English Translation

Abu al-Nadr told us, Abd al-Hamid ibn Bahram told us, from Shahr ibn Hawshab, Abu Umamah told me, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Any man who rises to his ablution intending to pray, and then washes his two palms, his offense comes down from his palms with the first drop; then if he rinses his mouth and nose and blows it out, his offense comes down from his tongue and his lips with the first drop; then if he washes his face, his offense comes down from his hearing and his sight with the first drop; then if he washes his arms to the elbows and his feet to the ankles, he is delivered from every sin that is upon him and every offense, as pure as the day his mother bore him." He said: "Then if he rises to pray, Allah raises his rank thereby, and if he sits, he sits delivered from sin."
