Hajjaj told us, he said: I heard Shu'bah narrating from Qatadah and Hashim; he said: Shu'bah told me, Qatadah informed us, he said: I heard Abu al-Ja'd narrating -- Hashim said in his hadith: Abu al-Ja'd, a client of Banu Dubay'ah -- from Abu Umamah, that a man of the People of the Bench died and left a dinar, so the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A branding [in the Fire]." He said: Then another died and left two dinars, so the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Two brandings."
