حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَمْرٍو يَعْنِي ابْنَ دِينَارٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ أَنَا مَنْ شَهِدَ مُعَاذًا حِينَ حَضَرَتْهُ الْوَفَاةُ يَقُولُ اكْشِفُوا عَنِّي سَجْفَ الْقُبَّةِ أُحَدِّثُكُمْ حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَمْنَعْنِي أَنْ أُحَدِّثَكُمُوهُ إِلَّا أَنْ تَتَّكِلُوا سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ مَنْ شَهِدَ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ مُخْلِصًا مِنْ قَلْبِهِ أَوْ يَقِينًا مِنْ قَلْبِهِ لَمْ يَدْخُلْ النَّارَ أَوْ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ وَلَمْ تَمَسَّهُ النَّارُ.
English Translation
Abdullah told us, my father told me, Sufyan ibn Uyaynah told us, from Amr - meaning Ibn Dinar - who said: I heard Jabir ibn Abdullah saying: I am among those who witnessed Mu'adh when death came to him, saying, "Lift the curtain of the tent from me, I will tell you a hadith I heard from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him" - and another time he said, "I will inform you of something I heard from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. Nothing prevented me from telling it to you except that you would rely on it alone." I heard him say, "Whoever bears witness that there is no god but Allah, sincerely from his heart, or with certainty from his heart, will not enter the Fire" - or "will enter Paradise" - and another time he said, "will enter Paradise and the Fire will not touch him."
