English Translation
Yahya ibn Abi Bukayr told us, Ubaydullah ibn Iyad ibn Laqit al-Shaybani told us, from his father, from Layla, wife of Bashir ibn al-Khasasiyyah, from Bashir, who said: He had come to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him — he said his name was Zahm — so the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, named him Bashir.
