English Translation
Sufyan told us, from Mansur, from Ibrahim al-Taymi, from 'Amr b. Maymun, from Abu 'Abdullah al-Jadali — he heard him narrating from Khuzaymah b. Thabit: "We asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, about wiping over the leather socks, and he granted the traveler a concession of three days and their nights, and the resident a day and a night." 'Abdullah said: My father said: I heard it from Sufyan twice mentioning [the ruling] for the resident, and that had the questioner pressed further in his question, he would have granted them more.
