English Translation
Ya'qub told us, my father told me, from Ibn Ishaq, Hisham ibn Urwah told me, from his father, from Usamah ibn Zayd, who said: I was riding behind the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, on the evening of Arafah. When the sun set, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, moved off, and when he heard the crowding of the people behind him he said: Gently, O people, calmness be upon you, for righteousness does not lie in hurrying. He said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when the people crowded upon him would quicken his pace, and when he found an open space he would go faster, until he passed by the mountain pass which many people claim he prayed in. He dismounted there and urinated - as they say, he passed water - then I brought him the water-skin and he performed ablution. Then I said: The prayer, O Messenger of Allah! He said: The prayer is ahead of you. He said: So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, rode on and did not pray until he reached Muzdalifah, where he dismounted and combined the two prayers, the sunset and the final night prayer.
