English Translation

Yahya ibn Adam told us, Zuhayr told us, Ibrahim ibn Uqbah told us: Kurayb informed me that he asked Usamah ibn Zayd, saying: Tell me how you did on the evening you rode behind the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. He said: We came to the mountain pass where people make their camels kneel for the sunset prayer, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, made his she-camel kneel, then he urinated - he said, he passed water - then he called for water and performed an ablution that was not very thorough. I said: O Messenger of Allah, the prayer! He said: The prayer is ahead of you. He said: Then he mounted and rode until he reached Muzdalifah, where he performed the sunset prayer. Then the people made their camels kneel at their stopping places and did not untie their loads until he performed the night prayer and prayed, after which the people untied their loads. He said: I asked: How did you do when you set off in the morning? He said: Al-Fadl ibn Abbas rode behind him, and I went off on foot among the runners of Quraysh.
