English Translation
Hasan told us: Ibn Lahi'ah told us: Yazid ibn Abi Habib told us, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Jubayr, from Abu al-Darda, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'I am the first for whom permission will be given to prostrate on the Day of Resurrection, and I am the first for whom permission will be given to raise his head, and I will look before me and recognize my nation from among the other nations; and behind me likewise; and to my right likewise; and to my left likewise.' A man said to him: 'O Messenger of Allah, how will you recognize your nation from among the other nations, from Nuh to your nation?' He said: 'They will be bright-faced and bright-limbed from the traces of ablution; no one else will be like that; and I will recognize them in that they will be given their record-books in their right hands; and I will recognize them in that their offspring will run before them.' Yahya ibn Ishaq told us, uncertain about it, he said: I heard Abu Dharr or Abu al-Darda say - Yahya said - he would say: 'And I will recognize them in that their light will run before them and in their right hands.' Ya'mar told us: Abdullah ibn Lahi'ah told us: Yazid ibn Abi Habib told me, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Jubayr ibn Nufayr, that he heard Abu Dharr or Abu al-Darda, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'I am the first for whom permission will be given in prostration,' and he mentioned something similar.
