English Translation

Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us: Shu'bah told us, he said: I heard Abu Ishaq narrate that he heard Abu Habibah say: A man bequeathed some dinars in the way of Allah, so Abu al-Darda was asked, and he narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: 'The likeness of one who frees a slave or gives charity at the time of his death is like the likeness of one who gives a gift after he is already full.' Abu Habibah said: 'So something of that struck me.'
