English Translation
Bahz told us: Shu'ba told us: Adi ibn Thabit informed me, from Abdullah ibn Yazid, from Zayd ibn Thabit, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, went out to Uhud, and some people who had gone out with him turned back, so the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, were among them two groups, one group saying they should be fought, and one group saying no — and Ibn Ja'far said: "So the people among them were two groups, one group saying they should be fought and one group saying no." Bahz said: So Allah, Mighty and Sublime, revealed: "So what is the matter with you concerning the hypocrites, that you are two groups?" And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "It is Tayba, and it expels impurity just as fire expels the impurity of silver." Affan narrated it to us and said in it: "I heard Abdullah ibn Yazid," and mentioned the meaning of the hadith of Bahz.
