English Translation
Sulayman ibn Dawud Abu Dawud told us, Abd al-Rahman ibn Thabit ibn Thawban told us, my father told me, from Makhul, from Ibn Abi Nu'aym, who was told by Usamah ibn Salman, that Abu Dharr told them that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) says: "Allah indeed accepts the repentance of His servant" — or "forgives His servant" — "as long as the veil has not fallen." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is the veil?" He said: "That the soul dies while it is in a state of associating partners with Allah."
