English Translation
Musa ibn Dawud told us, Ibn Lahi'ah told us, from Salim ibn Ghaylan, from Sulayman ibn Abi Uthman, from Adi ibn Hatim al-Himsi, from Abu Dharr, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Bilal: "You, O Bilal, call the adhan when dawn is bright, spreading across the sky — that is not dawn; dawn is only like this, stretched across the horizon." Then he called for his pre-dawn meal and ate it, and he used to say: "My nation will continue to be in good state as long as they delay the pre-dawn meal and hasten to break the fast."
