حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا صَالِحُ بْنُ رُسْتُمَ عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ صَامِتٍ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ عَلَيْكُمْ أُمَرَاءُ يُؤَخِّرُونَ الصَّلَاةَ عَنْ مَوَاقِيتِهَا فَإِنْ أَنْتَ أَدْرَكْتَهُمْ فَصَلِّ الصَّلَاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ فِي رَحْلِكَ ثُمَّ ائْتِهِمْ فَإِنْ وَجَدْتَهُمْ قَدْ صَلَّوْا كُنْتَ قَدْ صَلَّيْتَ وَإِنْ وَجَدْتَهُمْ لَمْ يُصَلُّوا صَلَّيْتَ مَعَهُمْ فَتَكُونُ لَكَ نَافِلَةً.
English Translation
Isma'il told us, Salih ibn Rustum told us, from Abu 'Imran al-Jawni, from Abd Allah ibn Samit, from Abu Dharr, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "O Abu Dharr, there will come to be over you rulers who delay the prayer from its proper times. If you find them so, then pray the prayer at its proper time" — and perhaps he said "in your dwelling" — "then go to them; if you find that they have already prayed, you will have already prayed; and if you find that they have not prayed, then pray with them, and it will be a supererogatory prayer for you."
