English Translation
Shayban narrated to us: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us: al-Hajjaj ibn Artah narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq al-Hamdani, from Abdullah ibn Abi Basir, from Ubayy ibn Ka'b, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If people knew what merit there is in the night prayer and the morning prayer performed in congregation, they would come to them even if they had to crawl." Abdullah narrated to us: Khalaf ibn Hisham al-Bazzar and Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, he said: Abu al-Ahwas narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from al-Ayzar ibn Hurayth, from Abu Basir, who said: Ubayy said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, led us in the dawn prayer, and when he finished the prayer he saw that the people of the mosque were few, so he said: "Is so-and-so present?" We said "yes," until he counted three men. Then he said: "There is no prayer heavier upon the hypocrites than the night prayer and the dawn prayer" -- and he related the hadith at length.
