English Translation
Waki' told us, al-A'mash told us, from al-Musayyab ibn Rafi', from Tamim ibn Tarafah, from Jabir ibn Samurah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came in to us while we were raising our hands in the prayer, and he said: "What is the matter with me, that I see you raising your hands as if they were the tails of unruly horses? Be still in the prayer." He said: And he came in to us in the mosque while we were sitting in separate circles, and he said: "What is the matter with me, that I see you in separate groups?"
