English Translation
Hasan ibn Musa told us, Zuhayr told us, Simak ibn Harb told us, who said: I heard Jabir ibn Samurah say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, led us in the dawn prayer, and he began snatching at something in front of him. When he finished, we asked him about it, and he said: "That was the devil; he threw sparks of fire onto my feet to tempt me away from the prayer. I seized at him, and had I caught him, he would have been tied to one of the pillars of the mosque so that the children of Medina could gather around and look at him."
